SLICK - Privacy Policy

This policy explains what WiseOwlBuys LLC ("we", "us") collects when you use SLICK (the "App"), why, who else sees it, and what you can do about it. It applies to the SLICK app on iOS, Android and the web, and to the web pages we host for it (such as second-opinion review links).

1. What SLICK is

SLICK helps you handle the conversations already in your life. You bring a conversation - a screenshot, pasted text, or something you say out loud - and SLICK helps you reply and, if you choose, keeps a Notebook of what that person has told you so its answers get sharper over time. SLICK is not a dating app: there are no profiles to browse, no matching, and no strangers. It does not introduce people and it does not judge them.

2. What we collect

a) Your account

You can use SLICK without signing in. If you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive your name and email address from that provider. Every account, signed in or not, has an ID that everything you keep is filed under.

b) What you share with SLICK

• Screenshots of chats and profiles that you choose to upload, and the text SLICK reads out of them.
• Text you type or paste into the App.
• Voice. When you use "Talk it out", your device's own speech recognizer (Apple's on iOS, Google's on Android, your browser's on the web) converts your speech to text. That service may process the audio on its servers under its own terms. SLICK receives the text only; we never receive or store audio. Nothing goes into a Notebook until you confirm it.
• Feedback you send us, including any screenshot you attach.

c) Your Notebooks

From what you share, SLICK draws out facts about the person in the conversation - what was said, and when, with the message it came from. Nothing is filed until you tap Keep and name the connection. A kept Notebook holds those facts, the name you gave the connection, the kind of relationship it is (romantic, professional, friend or family), the conversations you save to it, and your own notes and questions. SLICK also learns how you write from the messages you send, so replies sound like you.

d) Purchases

Subscriptions are sold through the App Store or Google Play and managed by RevenueCat. We keep your subscription status and purchase history. We never see your card or bank details.

e) Collected automatically

• App interactions: which features you use and when.
• Crash logs and performance data.
• Device identifiers: your advertising identifier (IDFA on iOS, GAID on Android) and a push-notification token.

What we do not collect

Your location. Your contacts, calendar, SMS or call log. Health or financial-account data. Card numbers. Dating preferences, age range, relationship goals or sexual orientation - the App has no field for any of these.

3. The people in your chats

Your screenshots and text include other people. Here is how we treat them:

• What SLICK stores about a person is what you chose to keep, in your Notebook, under your control. Every line shows where it came from ("From your chat", "From their profile", "Said on" plus the date), and you can remove any line, any time.
• SLICK works only from what you bring it. It never retrieves criminal records, court filings, registries, property records or any other outside source about a person.
• SLICK never claims a check, search or lookup was performed, and never gives a verdict, rating or score that implies someone's safety was measured.
• SLICK never builds a picture of anyone beyond the named connection, never of anyone under 18, and never recommends facial recognition.
• Protected characteristics are never used as a risk signal.
• Anything in a screenshot that the App does not use is not extracted, not sent onward and not logged.

4. How we use it

• To do what you asked: read the screenshot, draft the reply, answer your question from the Notebook, prepare you before you meet. The text and images you share are sent to Google Cloud's Vertex AI (Gemini models) to produce those answers.
• To run your account and subscription.
• To notify you - for example, when a friend answers a second-opinion link. You control notifications in your device settings.
• To keep the App working: crash reports, performance monitoring and usage analytics.
• To measure our advertising (see section 5).
• For safety and legal reasons: preventing abuse and meeting legal obligations.

5. Who else sees your data

• Google - Firebase (sign-in, database, file storage, analytics, crash and performance reporting, push notifications, app integrity) and Google Cloud, including Vertex AI for the AI itself.
• RevenueCat - subscription management. Receives your user ID and store purchase records.
• Apple and Google - payment processing, and speech recognition when you use voice.
• Meta, TikTok and Reddit - when you first open the App and when you make a purchase, we send your advertising identifier, your user ID, the install or sign-up event, and the purchase price and currency, so we can tell which ads worked. This is "tracking" in Apple's terms and "data sharing" in Google Play's. There is no in-app switch for it; you can limit or reset your advertising identifier in your device settings.
• People you share with - a second-opinion link shows your friend exactly what you chose to include (section 6).
• Legal requests, and a buyer if the business is sold - we would tell you first.

6. Second opinions

You can send one reply to a friend for a vote. Before anything is created, SLICK shows you exactly what the link will reveal. By default the friend sees the one reply you chose and nothing else; the text you typed and the screenshots you uploaded are included only if you switch that on. The link is private, needs no app or account, and expires 24 hours after it is sent; after that the page will not open, and any screenshots attached to it are removed. Your friend can vote, suggest an edit and leave a name; that feedback is stored with your review and shown to you. We record that a link was opened and answered; the reply text and your friend's words are never sent to analytics.

7. How long we keep things

• Raw uploads that you have not kept to a connection: removed within 24 hours, checked hourly.
• Screenshots saved to a connection: the original image is removed 30 days after upload. What SLICK learned from it stays in that Notebook until you remove it.
• Screenshots waiting for you to say who they belong to: 7 days.
• Notebook facts and your notes: until you remove the line, delete the connection, or delete your account.
• Pre-Date briefs: 30 days after they are produced.
• Second-opinion links: 24 hours.
• Your data export file: the download link works for 14 days.
• Account, subscription and analytics records: while your account exists, then per the deletion process below.

8. Your controls

• Every line, yours. Open any Notebook and remove any line. It disappears immediately.
• Delete a connection. Removes that Notebook, its conversations and its screenshots. You have 24 hours to restore it from Your Data; after that it is permanently removed.
• Delete your account. Your Data → Delete account. It disappears from the App at once and is permanently deleted 30 days later; signing back in before then cancels the deletion. Encrypted backups may hold deleted data for up to 60 further days and are used only to restore service. No app installed? Email us from the address you signed up with, or use the deletion page.
• Export your data. Your Data → Export my data gives you a JSON file of everything SLICK holds for you, including your Notebooks.
• Permissions. Camera, photos, microphone and notifications are all optional and managed in your device settings.
• Your legal rights. Depending on where you live (for example the EU/UK under GDPR, or California under the CCPA) you may have the right to access, correct, delete, export or restrict the use of your personal data, and to object to it being used. Email us and we will act on it. We will not treat you differently for exercising a right.

9. Security

Everything travels over encrypted connections (HTTPS). Data is stored on Google Cloud with access limited to what the App needs, and our servers check that requests come from a genuine copy of the App. No system is perfectly secure and we cannot promise otherwise; if we learn of a breach affecting you, we will tell you.

10. Children

SLICK is for adults. You must be 18 or older to use it, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18 - as a user or as a person in a Notebook. If you believe we hold information about a minor, email us and we will remove it.

11. Changes to this policy

When we change this policy we will post the new version here, update the date at the top, and summarise what changed. Material changes will also be announced in the App before they take effect.
